DAY 41 & 42...Rest and Reflections

And finally, back to tile! This is all of the tile salvaged from the old kitchen and the dining room floor. Greg said they will count it and see what can be reused. I can already tell you that the stuff with the thick concrete on the left is a nonstarter. I don't have the energy to count it myself but will have someone who knows more about tile do it on Monday. If there isn't enough, then we will have to order of the new bathroom tile for the hallway. And then there is also the awesome possibility that more REX tile will have to be put down in the entire living room. Just thinking about that mess gives me shivers, but maybe I anticipate too much.
Sunday's flower, moving in the breeze is a Rose of Sharon...one that is actually opening up more than the others. Wish they lasted more than a day and that I had more then one a day opening.
Trying to perk me up this morning, a wild turkey suddenly appeared over in the yard...if you look closely you will see him under the ceanothus bush...he escaped before Koko could get out in response to my yells!
Again, here is the view from OUTSIDE with the new header above the window and the dry rot in the 2x? above that. And it just dawned on me that what is the ceiling in the bedroom is the floor of the living room. Shit! Depending how far in the rot goes, is it possible that the floor will have to come up in the living room as well? At least I know which tile to use if that is the worst case scenario.
It wasn't until last night that I actually looked at the window that got the new header from INSIDE the bedroom! Yikes, the things I don't see! And so I ran outside and took the OUTSIDE picture...
