Suddenly there is a lot of activity.  Behind Jose, there is a metal plate on the wall...he is showing me the lag bolt...screw that is holding it in place.  I thought they would be welded on , but this looks pretty substantial considering all the blocking in the wall behind the siding.
I totally forgot to show the completed shower screen in place with the copper edging.  It was worth the wait and looks great.  It doesn't leak either!
Finally got around to starting to do some metal paintings...this is my first attempt with Gorilla Glue...it works out pretty well, but maybe I should take that pesky welding class...or learn how to braise!  I have a ton of scraps to work with so it is rather exciting.
George with Clouse Construction arrived today to help out with the welding up on the north wall.  Yikes, at least they were cutting the cor-ten down on the deck before moving up to the highest level of scaffolding.
I was on my way out to a meeting when I shot this, not thinking that the camera was on auto and would focus on the the tiny limbs instead of my subjects.  But you get the picture, or should I say the photo?  They are at least 20 ft. above ground level and the sparks are flying!
When I got home, Danny was waiting to tell me that the skylight over my bed (sigh) had been broken during the welding operation.  Thank god it was dual paned and only the dome part broke and the bottom level was intact.  Wish I weren't leaving tomorrow as I want to know how this will be repaired...sooner rather than later.  Anyway, I sure appreciated Daniel waiting until I got home to give me the news...I would have hated to have gotten in bed and looked up to see this!!! Yikes!  Hope K&S see this so they aren't surprised tomorrow when they come to housesit...I might have to wake them up early early to give them the news.  But at least I can tell them that the alarm works!

  1. Oh now I see the problem. Hope it is an easy fix although a quick expletive seems in order. And your little lights are off kilter.

I rather like the welding pic...it's kind of surreal. I'd take the welding class, too.
