What a delightful surprise I found right by my feet this morning...the Slynx, perhaps in response to all the work going on right outside the bedroom wall, has found a new cubby hole...He looks darling there and murmurs very sweetly when I sit down to do paper work.
The Slynx!
One of the foundations for the cor-ten posts which will hold up the deck...with the 40lbs steel plate in place. Thanks to Clearlake Machine Shop...
More jack hammering, what a racket and all the dust...really messy. One place the former owners didn't skip was when they poured concrete.
One of the footings for the deck is located right over the old footing of the old deck...there was a lot of concrete there judging by how far the giant drill penetrated.
I love the detail on the small window on the west side of the house...
You wouldn't think, if you heard all the racket going on here today that any wildlife would be nearby, but this hawk, red shoulder I think, kept soaring closer and closer until he was very near the house. Maybe he thought some of the sawing squeals were a large tasty rabbit...I don't know, but it was a beautiful sight on a fabulous afternoon.

I hope people know that they can click on any photo to get a better view...the hawk looks much better big!
ReplyDeleteHe was an impressive hawk, but I just must agree about the west side window. The lighting on that photo and , as you said, the detail makes it the epitome of the beauty of the siding. Very nice!
