12-7-11 Pouring the footings

KOKO pondering the changes going on all around her.  She has been so good, free in the yard with all the gates open, for the most part, she has right in the yard.  Her begging at lunch time has been a little annoying, and she is not afraid to bark at people if she thinks she is being ignored either.
Beautiful bromiliads in the bathroom...little by little furnishings are starting to appear.
A change in the altar...I finally unearthed my brother's very nice ceramic vase and with the copper backing , it looks great.
Digging holes, and putting in the rebar...this deck isn't going anywhere!
A delightful box of metal scraps...sharp so I will have to be careful if I work with it for assemblage and metal collages.  Exciting to think about the possibilities.
Another shot of the cage and rebar waiting for the concrete.
We finally, I say finally got the deck laid out, with Greg using the flour that Trent brought from Sacramento.  Notice KOKO following right along, eating up the lines!!!  My god, that dog!  But now we all k now where the little walls will be, where the stairs are, and exactly how big this deck really will be...impressive!
Andres and Rick shoveling the cement into the forms for the shed walls.
Into the forms for the cor-ten...took a yard to cement to do the shed forms and three of the holes.  Will do more when the other holes are dug.
Mat, smoothing out the forms so I can put my Oak Leaves in place!!!  Actually I only put them in the form by the slider.
Rick is using a sander to vibrate the concrete down so that no air spaces remain.  I forgot to ask when we can take off the forms...
The metal plates weigh 40 pounds, so instead of sinking them down into the cement, Mat put a template of wood which can be pulled off and then the metal put back in place.  A plate is currently in use below to weigh down the threshold into the dining room.
The threshold is made from left over mahogany that Mike cut for us, then Mat notched it and now it is glued into place, weighted down for 24 hours...going to be cold with that door open tonight.
The Slynx was dubious about cross the threshold and staked out a spot on the carpet to consider his options...Like Koko, there are a lot of adjustments going on for both Khorkina and The Slynx!
