I started the day with the news that most people were going to show up for a variety of reasons...booo! So I photographed my tiny collages that I made in the soldering workshop in Sonoma County on Saturday...I am pretty happy with them, esp. the Wurzel one! And the Smokin' Fish.
Thank god for Dennis and JR...what a day...Dennis had to really think out some of issues while hanging high up over the deck. A long hard day.
I meanwhile, picked and photographed daffodils while the work went on.
JR had to heft the screens up to Dennis so he could fit them into the frames and the wheels. It didn't help that there had been some damage on the previous attempt sometime ago. Talk about having to think when high up in a precarious position. Really a great job by these two.
I think the hardest thing to do is make up for mistakes that were made before one got on the job. But Dennis was very creative and JR was extremely supportive getting everything up to him while still replanting stuff for me. We all had to be on high alert.
Koko was relaxing peacefully on the deck when the fire alarm went off...we never really got an explanation, but thank god, it finally ended. Very very stressful and painful...I had to go take some advil...hope that was it for the day. Sheeesh!
JR and Dennis muscled up the Daphne which is blooming so sweetly, and now it is home on the deck so we can smell it for the next couple of weeks.
JR also had to use the dang grinder to cut the pots off my Fatsia Japonica so we could get them back in the ground...he also had to cut around the roots that had pushed out of the pots. I hope they are happy back in their space...they do look beautiful tucked into the corner between the stairs and the bridge.
Now I just have to move some of the bamboo tubs into positions and the front will be perfect...for now!
Thanks again to Dennis and JR...what a day!
