Day 7...A Look Inside The Walls part 2

This is a view in the dining room of the way the roof was added on over what had been a porch. The 2x6s were bolted onto the 2x6s extending from the house...these bolted on boards are not even touching the house...sort of hanging there sort of pretending to hold up the roof. Well, it didn't work, as this roof has done nothing but fill with water, leak, defy quick fixes until now! Well, one hopes that the new plan which will essentially rebuild this roof the way it should have been done will be successful. If not, then Luke will be able to say, "I told you so!" His solution is to tear off the roof and leave it off as a porch with just the eve overhang. No dining room in that scenario, so I said no thanks!

Now not to leave on a negative note...The roof demolition is coming right along with a lot more light in the loft once that section of roofing was removed. Worried me a little at first, but all is well so far. Bits and pieces of rotted wood on the parapet, and tons of glue etc. all over to try to stop the leaks. All the stuff that I want done right this time.
In the bathroom you can see all the dust floating in the air as they cut out the last of the structures. They are now working on getting rid of the tile floor and the sub floor. I have to hand it to these crews, they are all being super careful and cleaning up as they go along.
The parking down here is at a premium, so there is a lot of too and froing which is complicated right now by the phone man. That has turned into a strange odyssey of it's own. We are finding all sorts of problems with the wiring and electrical system and now the phone lines as well. Hopefully it will all get sorted out and done the right way.
Ah, Day 3!
