Siding around the Sewer Pipe...excellence!

This is an example of the series of steps necessary to make these corrugated panels fit the house and anything that extrudes from it, such as the septic pipe.  I had about an hour's warning that they were going to have to take the pipe apart in order to put that panel in place.  Yikes, I didn't know what to expect.  First they prepared the panel with two rough holes for the two openings.
Then Danny used his tin snips to make the rough cut perfect...every opening has to be finished by hand.
Then Jose and Danny took the septic pipe apart...and no chance for me to shout SHIT!  It was pretty clean.
And finally they fitted the panel over the pipe...perfectly.  No leaks either!  The bottom layer of the front of the house is now sided.  More worked also commenced with the metal trim around the windows going back on and new stuff being added...it was a very satisfying day.

Better photo of the siding

Here is a better photo of the siding on the corner of the house...lots more red shows in this one, even on the black panels.  Of course, the deck will be over this section of the house, so the view is not a real one.
Here is another shot of the cabinets and sink area in the bathroom.  The backsplash is all done and the cement counter just needs another treatment of two...I am getting confused with the process but hope to have a better understanding by the time the laundry room gets done.  I was having lunch at Cactus Grill when the actual pour happened...poor timing on my part.
The doors and drawers are out of the way while this part of the job goes on...

Dog room and living room

Jose cleaning up after the dust devils/mud men...Monday this room will be primed and painted so that we can put in the counter top for the tender plants that need saving from the freeze that is on the way!
This is the living room today, floor needs more cleaning, but finally it is getting back to it's old familiar shape...notice the sheetrock dust on the ceiling fan...god!  I will be living with that stuff for quite a while.  Anyway, after a little annoyance, maybe a little more than that yesterday, I am back to being pretty happy with the job.  It will all be worth it, and I will be back giving a day by day, blow by blow account of our progress.  The bathroom is so close, I can almost feel the first shower, and put the first magazine in the new rack...can't wait to put all my shoes and a lot of my clothes into the fabulous new cabinets too.  Now to commission Mike for a new desk and a new multimedia center in the living room...why didn't I ever think of that before?  Lazy brain.

Back in acttion on the remodel

So the first sheet of siding finally goes on the house...it is very black, but eacy one varies, and the next are more orange and red...and believe me the rust will come.
Below, today we sealed the dining room floor...Thanks to Mat and Andres who came in on Saturday to do that and move the dining room table back to it's space after almost three months.  It is hard to photograph the new height of the ceiling, but I will try again tomorrow.  It is a fabulous room!
Lost track of the days, but will try to figure it all out tomorrow...in the meantime I just want to post a couple of photos to show the progress that happened this week since I have been home.  I feel that finally the interior of the house is almost under control...please!
